Mysteries to solve

Ikat is one of the oldest textile techniques and patterns in the world, the exact origin of which is still unknown.

This technique is the reflection of a rich and diverse historical heritage, coming from Indonesia to Afghanistan, India and even South America. It arrived in Europe through the Silk Road, in the sixteenth century, becoming one of the hallmarks of the Mallorca island, which is the only place on the continent where they continue to work this pattern in an artisanal way.
